Trump gave a serious caution to Israel regarding the Middle East peace agreement.

Trump’s Strong Warning to Netanyahu Over Peace Deal

On October 4, President Donald Trump delivered a pointed message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as reported by several sources. This exchange occurred while Trump administration representatives were rapidly working to finalize a peace agreement involving Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, just ahead of the second anniversary of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

In his conversation with Netanyahu, Trump was quite direct. He indicated that an announcement regarding the deal was imminent and that Netanyahu had no option but to participate, according to a report by Time magazine.

“Bibi, you can’t fight the world,” Trump stated during the call, emphasizing that while personal battles were acceptable, the global context was different. Despite Netanyahu’s hesitance, Trump’s patience appeared to be fading. He launched into a robust monologue detailing his efforts for Israel: moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing the Golan Heights, facilitating the Abraham Accords, and even endorsing Israel’s military actions against Iran.

Time has reported that Trump has made it clear he would not back Netanyahu unless a peace deal was reached. Steve Witkoff, a special envoy, remarked that Trump’s remarks were candid, and he wouldn’t tolerate anything less than a commitment.

Ultimately, Netanyahu conceded to a deal that included troop withdrawals and disarmament of Hamas, alongside provisions necessitating the return of hostages within 72 hours post-agreement. Notably, some remains of Israeli hostages are still unaccounted for.

Netanyahu’s office did not respond to requests for comments from media outlets. Tensions from the Trump administration have reportedly increased following an Israeli attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar, which prompted Trump’s dissatisfaction due to its violation of Qatari sovereignty.

In a strategic twist, Trump leveraged this unrest to unite regional leaders for negotiations aimed at a conflict resolution. “This was one of the things that brought us all together,” he mentioned, reflecting on the chaotic situation that ultimately accelerated the peace talks.

After the agreement was reached, Trump, alongside Israeli Knesset members, recognized the first phase of the peace initiative during a visit to Egypt. He proclaimed it a significant victory, stating, “We finally have peace in the Middle East. This is, in very simple terms, peace in the Middle East.” He expressed skepticism about achieving such a breakthrough but noted that they managed to get there.

Looking ahead, Trump is now focusing on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, indicating that the success of the Middle East peace deal might help facilitate discussions towards resolving that conflict as well. He recently met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to address the situation.
