Critics hailed former President Donald Trump's performance at the Al Smith Dinner on Thursday as one of the funniest speeches of all time.
Mr. Trump spoke for about 30 minutes and berated several celebrities in attendance, including New York Mayor Eric Adams (D), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and himself.
Vice President Kamala Harris was the subject of many jokes, but did not attend the benefit dinner. This is the first time a Democratic candidate has skipped the dinner since 1984, when President Ronald Reagan lambasted Walter Mondale.
“If you really wanted Vice President Harris to accept your invitation, you should have told her the money was going to help the looters and rioters in Minneapolis. That would have made sure she was here. “I could have done that,” Trump said, mocking Harris and Tim. Waltz (D).
