Trump Praises Jackson Dart
Donald Trump shared some positive thoughts about Jackson Dart during a recent Fox News interview. He was asked about the quarterback’s warm reception from fans after introducing Trump at Rockland Community College in Suffern just last week.
“First off, I mean, wouldn’t it be great if he looked like Jackson? Is he like a male model or something? He’s really quite handsome,” Trump commented. “He’s a conservative guy. He said, ‘I love you, sir.’ Potentially, he could be a great quarterback. He’s just a young guy, still at the beginning of his journey.”
Trump further emphasized Dart’s impact during games, noting that “when he’s in, he really drives the team.” He expressed confidence that the young quarterback has a bright future ahead, as long as he stays healthy.
However, not everything has been smooth sailing. After the rally, Dart faced some backlash from Giants fans and even within his own locker room. Teammate Abdul Carter made a remark on X, expressing disbelief at the situation, saying it felt like something out of AI rather than reality.
Even though Carter later deleted his post, he mentioned that he and Dart had spoken “as men” and resolved things privately. Dart conducted locker room meetings to clarify his stance, though Carter missed them due to family obligations for Eid al-Adha. Other veterans on the team, like Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeau, also weighed in.
It wasn’t until Friday, following the Giants’ organized team activities, that Dart and Carter discussed the matter publicly. Dart shared his perspective: “Obviously, introducing the president was a unique opportunity for me. My thoughts were straightforward—I’ve always loved this country. My family has a history of military service, and the position of the president is one I’ve respected, regardless of political affiliation.”
He acknowledged that politics can be touchy, but he understands the weight of being the quarterback for the Giants. Carter also expressed his need to clarify his own views, though he wasn’t looking for an apology from Dart. “You don’t have to spread hate,” Carter stated. “Jackson and I get along just fine. We share goals, and as long as that’s aligned, we’ll be okay.”
Carter concluded by saying he didn’t expect Dart to apologize. “Stand on your beliefs; that’s what matters,” he added. “What I believe in matters, yes, but so does what he believes in.”
