Iowa Attorney General Brenna Byrd, who endorsed former President Donald Trump in October, said Tuesday night's historic victory in the Iowa caucuses that the 45th president “has energy and momentum across the state.” ,” he told Breitbart News on Tuesday.
Breitbart News spoke by phone Tuesday afternoon to ask Byrd for his thoughts on Trump's record-setting night, which more than doubled the largest lead in the history of the Iowa caucuses.
“Last night was a historic big win. He was over 50%. We've never seen a caucus win this big. The record was 12 points in 1988. But he smashed it. I think it was 30 points plus,” Bird pointed out to Breitbart News. “And the other thing we've never seen before is the results came out so quickly. You know, the reason the caucuses were convened so early was because everyone was supporting him. Because it was obvious that he was doing it.”

In his victory speech, which was joined by Trump's top surrogates and supporters from around the country, Trump praised Byrd's support, calling her “a woman who has had a big chance” and “really, really… “I stepped up.” ”
“She stands apart from the pack,” Trump added. “And she has tremendous courage, but it hasn't been easy. In some states it's easy. In other states it's a little more difficult.”
When asked by Breitbart News if it was difficult,[break] Ms. Byrd said she supported President Trump “out of the crowd,” as he said, “I support Trump because I believe he is the one to remove Biden from office and take our country back.”
“We need him to take office again as president to secure our borders, lead our economy, and keep us safe. He did a great job as president, and so did I,” she said. added. “And because Iowa is No. 1 in the nation, sometimes different people support different candidates or stay neutral. You know, people make different decisions. But… I supported and supported President Trump and was happy to campaign with him across Iowa.”

President Trump praised Byrd on Monday, predicting that she would eventually become the Hawkeye governor.
“She's going to be governor one day,” he said.
Byrd thanked the 45th president for his remarks, but when asked by Breitbart News to respond to the president and his high praise, Byrd said he was focused on his immediate duties as the new attorney general. and praised Governor Kim Reynolds (Republican, Iowa). He asked if he would consider running for governor someday.
“It was very kind of him to say that, especially on his big night that we're all celebrating. It was a very kind and meaningful talk. I was just elected attorney general last year, and in 1978 “I'm going to take a break from my job as attorney general because I defeated the guy who was elected when I was 2 years old in 2019,” Byrd said. “And that's exactly my focus: supporting law enforcement and prosecutors, holding criminals accountable, and holding the Biden administration accountable when it violates the law and the Constitution.”My focus is there and we have a great governor in Kim Reynolds and I really appreciate his kind words. ”
