Trump has higher favorability numbers than Taylor Swift, poll finds

A new poll finds that former President Donald Trump is more favorably rated among voters than pop superstar Taylor Swift.

A poll of 2,436 voters nationwide conducted by The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Siena College found that 44% have a favorable opinion of Taylor Swift, while 34% have an unfavorable opinion.

The poll found that 47% have a favorable view of Trump and 51% have an unfavorable view, while 48% of voters have a favorable view of Vice President Kamala Harris, while 49% have an unfavorable view, the paper said.

The poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points, was conducted from Sept. 11-16, starting the day after Swift endorsed the Harris-Waltz campaign.

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for President in 2024,” Swift wrote on her Instagram account on September 10, following the presidential debate between the two candidates that day.

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris. She is fighting for rights and causes that I believe we need warriors to defend. I think she is a steady and talented leader and I believe this country can accomplish so much more if it is led with calm, not chaos,” Swift added. “I am so encouraged and impressed that she has chosen Tim Waltz as her running mate, who has fought for decades for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women's right to their bodies.”

of The New York Times Her support reportedly appears to have split voters between political parties.

The poll found that 70% of Democrats have a favorable view of Swift, compared with 41% of independents and just 23% of Republicans.

Sixty percent of Republicans said they had an unfavorable view of Swift, while only 11% of Democrats said the same.
