Trump Holds Rally in Arizona with Floyd Mayweather

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump hosted a rally for Republicans in Arizona, sharing the stage with undefeated boxing icon Floyd “Money” Mayweather, a moment that quickly became popular on social media.

At the end of his speech, Trump introduced Mayweather, acknowledging his impressive record of 50-0, and referred to him as “the greatest defensive fighter.”

Mayweather expressed his support for Trump, stating that “the country could not have chosen a better president twice than Donald Trump.” He reminisced about his pride in representing the U.S. during the 1996 Olympic Games, emphasizing his love for the country. He continued, “It’s all about keeping this country strong, and it’s all about us sticking together and believing in one another. America is the best country in the world.”

This exchange has since gained traction on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X. This appearance marks the latest outing with a sports celebrity, following last week’s event in San Antonio where Roger Clemens joined Trump. Just two days later, another boxing great, Mike Tyson, appeared with him in Syracuse. In Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday, both football coach John Gruden and boxer Jake Paul were also present on stage.

Trump’s rally in Arizona was part of a broader campaign effort as he travels the nation urging voter turnout for Republican candidates. He encouraged attendees to support Rep. Andy Biggs in the gubernatorial race against Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, whom he criticized harshly. “In 20 days, the people of Arizona are going to defeat your failed radical left, horrible governor Katie Hobbs,” Trump proclaimed, labeling her as “horrible” and “dumb.”

He praised Biggs as a “true American patriot,” describing him as a “conservative guy,” but also someone who embodies “common sense,” which he emphasized is crucial in leadership.

Trump went on to criticize Governor Hobbs, who has held office since 2023, accusing her of being lenient on crime and immigration, suggesting she serves the interests of cartels. “Something has to be between her and the cartels because she’s causing tremendous death in your state,” he asserted.

He pointed out various crime bills that Hobbs vetoed during her administration, saying, “She vetoed 18 bills cracking down on crime, including legislation to crush the drug cartels.” He warned of the dire consequences, noting that many children, among others, are suffering due to fentanyl, and asked attendees to consider the military actions he has taken to reduce drug inflow into the country.

Trump did not stop at criticizing Hobbs; he also took aim at former President Joe Biden and the Democrats in general, accusing them of creating the current affordability crisis. He warned of potential consequences if Democrats regain power, including open borders and rising inflation. “On November 3rd, this state needs to stand up and declare that you are never going back to the disasters and devastation of the Democrat rule,” Trump concluded.
