Former President Donald Trump paid tribute to 13 U.S. troops killed in the Biden administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan during a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday.
President Trump laid a wreath and placed his hand over his heart as a bugler played Taps in memory of those killed in the August 26, 2021, attack at Kabul airport.

Meanwhile, there was nothing on the timeline for President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, who ran for the White House post in November and conducted a withdrawal.
Thirteen American soldiers were killed in a suicide bomb attack at the Abiy Gate of Kabul International Airport. The Biden administration failed to foresee the Taliban entering the capital and toppling the U.S.-backed government in a surprise attack, leading to the hasty and unplanned evacuation of thousands of American and foreign civilians.

Those who died that day included Marine Sergeant Nicole L. Gee, Corporal Dagan Page, Corporal David Espinoza, Corporal Dylan Merola, Corporal Humberto Sanchez, Corporal Hunter Lopez, Sergeant Johany Rosario Picardo, Army Sergeant Ryan Knaus, Marine Corps Sergeant Kareem Nikoui, Navy Seaman Maxton Sobiak, Marine Corps Sergeant Darin Huber, Corporal Jared Schmitz and Corporal Riley McCollum.
After the service, President Trump visited Knauss' grave and called family members who were unable to attend.

Trump also accused Biden and Harris of “gross incompetence” in a statement posted to his Truth Social account.
This is the third anniversary of the most shameful moment in our nation's history: the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan. Gross incompetence, 13 American soldiers killed, hundreds wounded or killed, Americans and billions of dollars of military equipment left behind. Instead of withdrawing our soldiers first, we withdraw them last, after everything else has worked out. Then Russia invaded Ukraine, Israel was attacked, and America became a laughing stock around the world.
He ended his post with, “The FAKE NEWS MEDIA continues to remain silent to protect the worst administration in the history of our country! MAGA2024.”
