Trump honors victims of the attacks in Brown and Syria, Australia

Trump Offers Condolences for Global Attacks

On Sunday, President Donald Trump expressed his sympathies for the many victims affected by various attacks worldwide, including the recent shooting at Brown University and the Hanukkah terrorist incident in Australia.

Speaking at a Christmas reception at the White House, he conveyed his condolences specifically for the victims of the Brown shooting. He condemned the Sydney attack that occurred on Saturday, referring to it as an act of “pure anti-Semitism,” while also addressing the tragic deaths of three Americans in Syria.

“I want to acknowledge the people of Brown University,” Trump stated. “It’s unfortunate that two individuals are no longer with us. Nine were injured, and two of them are now in a better place.” He remarked on the severity of the attack in Australia, which left 11 people dead and 29 others seriously hurt, reiterating that it was definitely an anti-Semitic act.

Trump noted, “Today, as we gather to celebrate, we also honor Hanukkah amidst these horrific events that are driven by anti-Semitism.” He highlighted incidents in Syria, mentioning the deaths of two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter, promising that those responsible will face severe repercussions.

In Syria, he confirmed that great consequences await the attackers and that one of the suspects has been captured. Additionally, three soldiers were wounded in the incident but are reported to be recovering.

According to Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, the attack was carried out while soldiers were engaged in vital leadership activities in ongoing military operations related to combatting ISIS and terrorism in the region.

Identities of the soldiers involved in the attack will remain undisclosed for at least 24 hours to allow their families to be informed first.
