Trump’s Immigration Stance Intensifies Following Tragedy
Donald Trump declared a plan to permanently halt immigration from countries he refers to as the “Third World.” He stated, “To fully restore the American system, I will permanently end immigration from all Third World countries, end all of the illegal entries that have increased under Biden’s administration, and remove individuals who are not contributing positively to our society.” This statement is part of his broader strategy to address what he sees as threats to American stability.
He elaborated that the goals include significant measures such as revoking federal benefits for non-citizens, denaturalizing immigrants who threaten domestic peace, and deporting those with criminal backgrounds. He believes these actions are critical for significantly reducing illegal populations in the country.
In a Thanksgiving message, Trump expressed his gratitude towards Americans while lamenting the struggles related to immigration. He remarked on the challenges posed by the growing foreign population, which he claims includes many who rely on welfare. He stated, “These immigrants, often under the guise of refugee status, contribute to social dysfunction. Look at Minnesota, where crime has surged due to the influx of refugees. Many citizens feel trapped in their own homes, and state officials seem powerless to address the problem.” He suggested, quite provocatively, that only by reversing immigration policies can true resolution be found.
This announcement comes in the wake of a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. One of the victims, Sarah Beckström, lost her life, while the other guard, Andrew Wolfe, remains in a critical condition.
Authorities revealed that the suspected shooter, Rahmanullah Rakanwal, had entered the U.S. in 2021 under the Biden administration as part of a humanitarian program related to the withdrawal from Afghanistan. This incident underscores the ongoing, complex debates surrounding immigration policies and their implications for safety and national stability.
