On Sunday night, President Trump instructed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to ramp up deportation activities in cities governed by Democrats, following protests in Los Angeles related to his immigration policies.
The president urged ICE to “do everything in their power” to assist in achieving the administration’s deportation objectives, which have intensified in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
Last month, White House advisor Stephen Miller announced a goal of at least 3,000 ICE arrests daily.
“The officers of ICE have demonstrated remarkable strength, determination, and bravery in pursuit of a key mission: the largest mass expulsion operation in history. Every day, these courageous men and women face violence, harassment, and threats from radical Democratic leaders, but we will not waver in our mission,” stated Trump.
He further emphasized that ICE agents are instructed to do whatever is necessary to accomplish the monumental task of implementing the largest deportation program ever.
Trump has urged federal agents to target undocumented immigrants residing in the nation’s most populous areas, asserting that these cities harbor many “illegal aliens.”
He claimed, “These cities represent the core of Democratic strongholds, exploiting illegal immigrants to grow their voter base, manipulate elections, expand social services, and take away the earnings and benefits from hardworking Americans. These radical left Democrats despise our country and aim to ruin our cities.”
The president contended that Democrats advocate for “open borders,” suggesting that ICE should concentrate its efforts in Democratic-led areas.
“There’s something off about them. They support individuals who promote open borders, gender issues for everyone, women’s sports. That’s why I’m determined to focus on ICE, border patrol, and our dedicated law enforcement in combating crime in these troubled urban areas,” Trump remarked.
He added that he has “directed his administration to deploy all available resources for this cause, reversing the trend of chaos that has turned once peaceful towns into dystopian landscapes.”
Trump’s statement, which consisted of 407 words, was signed “DJT.”
This announcement indicates a significant escalation in the administration’s efforts to bolster ICE arrests.
Recently, the president dispatched troops to Los Angeles to manage protests over ICE operations, leading to confrontations with California Governor Gavin Newsom, Mayor Karen Bass, and other Democratic officials.
Later, a federal appeals court lifted a lower court’s order against the deployment of Trump’s National Guard, allowing the troops to continue assisting with immigrant raids in Los Angeles.
