Trump invites Chinese President Xi Jinping to inauguration: Report 

President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to his inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C., next month.

The invitation came in early November, shortly after Trump won against Vice President Kamala Harris on Election Day. CBS News It was reported on Wednesday.

It is unclear whether Mr. Xi accepted the invitation.

The Chinese embassy did not immediately respond to the Post's request for comment.

A spokesperson for the Trump-Vance transition team would not confirm or deny reports that Mr Xi could make a historic appearance at the January 20 inauguration ceremony.

“World leaders are lining up to meet with President Trump because he will soon return to power and through American power,” Caroline Leavitt, Trump Vance's transition spokeswoman, said in a statement. Because we know that we will restore peace around the world.”

According to CBS News, no foreign leader has ever attended a presidential inauguration, according to State Department records dating back to 1874.

Mr. Xi, 71, may not be the only world leader to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whom President Trump regularly mentions on the campaign trail and who he met with at Mar-a-Lago this week, has not yet decided whether he will attend the 45th president's second inauguration, the paper said. “It's under consideration.”

TikTok's parent company, China-based ByteDance, also faces a deadline to sell its social media app on the eve of the Jan. 19 inauguration or face a ban in the United States.

Trump, 78, has met with several world leaders in the run-up to his presidential inauguration.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Argentine President Javier Milei and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have all stopped in Palm Beach, Florida, home of President Trump's transition efforts, in recent weeks.

The president-elect also visited Paris over the weekend, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskiy, and Britain's Prince William.
