President Donald Trump has indicated he might revisit the nuclear program issue, expressing concerns about the United States and hinting at the possibility of another strike against Iran. “That’s true. Definitely, absolutely,” he stated to reporters on Friday when questioned about follow-up actions.
This isn’t the first time Trump has warned Iran; at a recent NATO summit in the Netherlands, he emphasized that the U.S. wouldn’t hesitate to act again if Tehran attempts to revive its nuclear efforts.
In other comments, Trump dismissed a casual threat from Russia regarding arming Iran with nuclear capabilities, referring to it as something from “Putin’s boss.”
On Saturday, he claimed that the U.S. had successfully targeted Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, asserting these facilities had been effectively neutralized. He was quite clear, stating the nuclear enrichment operations in Iran had “disappeared.”
Trump also took aim at Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who had boasted of victory over Israel. He countered this by saying that Khamenei had been spared by the U.S. military, suggesting he was fortunate to avoid a “very ugly and ignorant death.”
“I saved him from a very ugly and ignorant death. He doesn’t have to say, ‘Thank you, President Trump!’” he wrote on True Society.
Trump further remarked, “I hope the Iranian leadership learns that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Peace!!!”
Recently, the U.S. initiated a strike against Iran, deploying over 125 aircraft to target significant nuclear facilities, as detailed by Chief of Staff Dan Kane. Following the operation, Trump addressed the nation, claiming that the mission had completely dismantled the nuclear site. Yet, subsequent reports from sources like CNN and The New York Times suggested that the strike only delayed Iran’s nuclear ambitions by a matter of months.
As for the aftermath, officials from the U.S., Israel, and Iran have all stated that the three nuclear sites involved in the strike sustained considerable damage. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses confirmed that the FBI is looking into the leak of information related to the operation.
