CNN anchor Jake Tapper said on his network's New Hampshire preliminary coverage on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump noted that former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-South Carolina) is still in the race. “I'm furious,” he said.
Tapper said, “You know, one of the interesting things about Donald Trump's performance tonight is that he's angry. He's angry. It wasn't like celebrating Trump. He is angry that Nikki Haley is still in the race. He was insulting her. He was insulting the voters of New Hampshire. He was insulting the primary system process there. But it's been going on forever — it was going on when Donald Trump was a Democrat.”
She added, “He went after the governor. This is not a benevolent Donald Trump. I'm going to be the candidate. Now let's all come together and heal. This is furious to me. Where’s my hype? To add more offense.”
co-anchor Erin Burnett said.
Tapper said, “He was great. He should be in a good mood.”
Burnett said, “I mean, Kristen Holmes said she expected seven points, but she was wrong in saying that. Oh wow. We're close to seven points. Yeah. You know, everything at this point. It's still in the final stages. You certainly see something in Abby in double digits. That should make him feel good. But like Jake said, that's not the tone.”
