MSNBC commentator Donnie Deutsch said Monday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump appeared devastated while attending a corporate records trial in New York City.
Host Nicole Wallace said, “Donnie, in terms of Trump’s brand, I’ve said this a million times, and I’ve said it to you, this is the one thing he’s not involved in.” It’s a criminal case, right? And these are the only facts he’s running from. Even though he’s standing in front of the courtroom waving papers and sulking, his biggest concern is his alleged affair with Stormy and Karen. These are not facts that he can accept, even though it extends to his own masculinity.
“Again, anyone who thinks this is empathizing with him or that this is rallying his troops, it’s not,” Deutsch said. He’s sitting there neutered and, for the first time in his life, helpless, unable to do or say what he wants. ”
She added: “When I look at him like that, he looks so downcast and defeated. I especially feel that if he pleads guilty in the future, he will be branded a convicted felon.” So I don’t think that’s good news.”
“And he knows it,” Wallace said.
