Trump to Address Military Gathering in Virginia

President Donald Trump is set to speak this week at a significant assembly of U.S. military personnel in Virginia.

He described the NBC News meeting simply, calling it “a very great meeting talking about what we’re doing well militaryly, in great shape, and a lot of good, positive things.”

“We have amazing people coming to us. It’s just—what is it?—Esprit de Corps. Do you know that phrase? I mentioned it in a phone interview,” he remarked. “That’s it. We’re discussing what we’re doing, what they’re doing, how they’re doing.”

According to a report from Breitbart News last week, Hegseth summoned hundreds of top U.S. military leaders, including generals and admirals, to convene on Tuesday at the U.S. Marine Base in Kunchongtik, Virginia. The Washington Post confirmed that “almost all of the top military commanders around the world” would be present, as stated by Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. He noted that Hegseth would “address his senior military leaders early next week,” but provided few additional details and indicated he had no concerns regarding the meeting.

Parnell mentioned, “Around 800 generals and admirals are spread across the United States, with many others in different countries and time zones.” The directive applies to all senior officers with a rank of brigadier or higher.

Expected attendees include commanders of conflict zones and senior military leaders from locations in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific regions, according to unnamed sources familiar with the situation.

One source expressed that this kind of order was unprecedented and raised some apprehension among military officials.

“People are very worried. They don’t know what that means,” the source stated.

In response, President Trump and Vice President JD Vance downplayed these concerns.

“It’s not really unusual, actually. I think it’s strange that you made it such a big story,” Vance told reporters.
