On CNN's “Situation Room” aired on Friday, House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-ny), argued that the Trump administration is not focusing on everyday American issues, but Democrats “continue to ensure that they try to improve everyday American lives.” And then, “We have to drive away high living expenses. We need to secure borders.”
Jeffries said: “What we see from the Trump administration over the past few weeks is an unprecedented flood of extremism, a horrifying parade that continues to unleash Americans, while the Trump administration has not focused on solving everyday American problems. We are continuing to focus on trying to improve our lives for everyday Americans. Essentially, that's why we were sent to Washington, D.C.
He continued. “We must take away high living expenses. We must ensure borders. We must keep our communities safe. We must protect our dreamers, farm workers and our families. These are important in contrast to creating moments like crisis where we should come together and demonstrate leadership in the free world.”
