Trump, Johnson talk 2024 at Mar-a-Lago as Haley vows to stay in GOP primary

House Speaker Mike Johnson marked President’s Day by speaking with former President Donald Trump about the 2024 election cycle at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, Fox News Digital reported.

This comes as Mr Trump’s last major primary opponent, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, announced on Tuesday that she would remain in the race despite losing every race to Mr Trump to date. This was in response to the incident.

“Speaker Johnson met with President Trump in Florida on Monday to discuss expanding the majority and securing Republican victories in the November vote,” Johnson campaign spokesman Greg Steele told Fox News Digital. ” he said.

Also attending the meeting with Johnson was Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C., chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the campaign arm of House Republicans. They were in Florida for the House Republican leadership’s annual dinner.

The NRCC did not respond to the group’s request to read its own meeting details. President Trump’s spokesperson also did not respond to a request for comment.

House Republican leaders are showing unprecedented unity around Trump, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination. Earlier this month, Johnson released a video calling on Republicans to unite around Trump.

The speaker’s video not only calls for unity, but also appears to condemn Haley for remaining in the race.

Fox News Digital did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Haley’s campaign about Trump’s meeting with Johnson and Hudson.
