Donald Trump Jr. said his father, former President Donald Trump, is in “very good spirits” despite being hospitalized following a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
“I just spoke with my father on the phone and he is in great spirits,” Trump Jr. told Fox News Digital in a statement. “He will never stop fighting to save America, no matter what attacks the radical left mounts.”

Trump was removed from the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, shortly after 6 p.m. after a gunshot erupted. He was restrained by Secret Service agents and hurried off the stage with blood on his right ear and face.

“I was shot above my right ear,” the former president said on Truth Social hours after the incident.
“I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all law enforcement for their swift response to the shooting that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person who died at the rally and the family of the other person who was seriously injured,” Trump wrote.

“I can’t believe something like this could happen in our country. We don’t know anything about the perpetrator at this point. The perpetrator is already dead,” he added.
According to Trump, “I knew right away something was wrong because I heard a whoosh and a gunshot and felt the bullets going through my skin. I was bleeding heavily and realized what was going on. God Bless America!”

President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, also responded to the incident on Saturday night. “I appreciate all of your love and prayers for my father and the victims of the senseless violence that occurred today in Butler, Pennsylvania,” she wrote on X.
“I want to thank the Secret Service and all other law enforcement officers for their swift and decisive action today. I continue to pray for our country. Dad, I love you today and always,” Ivanka Trump said.
The shooter was pronounced dead, according to a law enforcement source, Fox News’ Jackie Henrich reported, and two injured bystanders were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.

A Secret Service source told Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson that an FBI flight team was en route to Butler to begin an “assassination investigation.”
