Trump Calls Out Democratic Socialism
On Friday, President Donald Trump criticized the Democratic Party during a speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition. He labeled a recent socialist primary winner as a “godless communist.”
Trump emphasized, “They’re not social democrats. They’re die-hard godless communists. All communists don’t believe in God. This is the most serious threat to our country since our founding. In my opinion, 250 years ago. This is the greatest threat to our country.” His remarks came after several candidates with socialist backing won the New York primary, indicating a notable shift within the Democratic Party.
As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Trump underscored the importance of America’s founding principles, contrasting them with the rising influence of socialism. “Instead of talking about Christ, instead of talking about freedom and victory of every kind, we will be talking about new threats to the foundations of America,” he stated.
Far Left Gains Ground
Trump also took aim at New York City’s socialist mayor, Zoran Mamdani, after a pivotal decision by the city’s Rent Guidelines Board. Mamdani saw success as three congressional candidates he endorsed won their respective Democratic primaries.
Trump remarked, “For the first time in history, we’ve got a powerful rent stabilization commission today, an example of setting rents in New York City.” He criticized the political shift, arguing that this left-wing agenda, including a rent freeze, is dangerous.
The Rent Guidelines Board’s decision now prevents landlords from increasing rents on new one- or two-year leases, a move Trump believes could lead to the city’s decline. He expressed concern, saying, “What the mayor isn’t saying is that these buildings will quickly turn into ghettos and slums, and everyone will continue to leave New York.”
He warned that if this trend spreads across the nation, it could have catastrophic results. “If this spreads through the country like a cancer out of control, the country itself will collapse. It will become the Third World,” Trump added, asserting that such changes won’t happen to the United States.
