Taking into account the so-called “lean” of undecided voters, the 77-year-old Republican led the 81-year-old Democrat 52% to 48%.

“There are different motivations between Biden and Trump voters,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.

The 45th president enjoys a narrow 0.6 percentage point lead over his successor in best performance. Recent RealClearPolitics averages Pennsylvania poll results.

Earlier this week, Biden and Trump were expected to win the delegates needed to win their respective parties’ nominations.

Pennsylvania received 19 electoral votes and is considered one of the key battleground states in this year’s election.

In 2016, voters in the federal state supported Mr. Trump for the first time since the state became Republican in 1988. In 2020, Biden beat Trump by 1.2 percentage points.
