Trump Lies So Much, Debates Need Live Commentators Fact Checking
Former Bush-Cheney political strategist Matthew Dowd said Thursday on MSNBC's “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), were in a debate. He said there should be a commentator to check the facts on live broadcasts because he was lying so much. Like sports.
Host Nicole Wallace said: The people who voted for Trump told us that they know everything about Trump, but are with him anyway. So the right side is all performance stuff? ”
“I actually think Donald Trump has tested our souls, and I think people have come to that conclusion in the process. We're still a divided country,” Dowd said. I think for all the things that I've done, ultimately people are saying, I can't do this. I voted for him once or twice, but I'm not going to do this. I don't want to meet people in Michigan and befriend a father and his adult son and say, “I'm going to vote for Harris, but I can't tell anybody, because where I work, it's not for me.'' It’ll be negative,” I whispered. I live in a very red area. ”
He added, “I think that's exactly the case. In this moment when a candidate lies, like Vance lied all through the debate, and Donald Trump lied all through the debate, it's important to correct it.'' “I think we need to come up with another way to actually do it.” time. We rely on hosts, but I often think, remember when the Mystery Science Theater showed a terrible movie and the guy was commenting on the stupid stuff in the movie? should bring up the discussion they are commenting on during the discussion. ”
“Every sporting event is the most-watched live content anywhere in the world, broadcast live by real-time commentators while the game is in progress,” Wallace said.
