Trump Media begins streaming platform Truth+ rollout

Former President Trump’s media company announced Friday that it has begun rolling out a streaming platform called Truth+.

“Following rigorous stress testing, the initial streaming service will be available to all Truth Social users on the web, with Android and iOS expected to follow shortly thereafter.” The company said in a statement.

The streaming platform will be available through Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social. Users can access the streaming content by clicking on the Truth+ icon while scrolling through the Truth Social app, the company said.

“The initial slate of streaming options will include channels across news, commentary, weather, lifestyle and entertainment,” the company said, noting it plans to expand into Christian and family-friendly content.

Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group, said Truth Social was created to be a “safe haven” for free speech online.

“Today, we have established a trusted home for great TV shows that were ignored or at risk of being canceled by the bigger companies, and we have our own tech stack and hardware infrastructure to create new shows. [content delivery network] It cannot be cancelled.”

Nunes said he looks forward to launching enhancements to the streaming platform with new content.

Users will be able to watch TV shows that have aired over the past seven days, as well as network DVR and video on demand, and the company said it has plans to let users watch streaming content on their TVs at home.

President Trump launched social media app Truth Social in 2021 to take on the “tyranny of big tech companies.”
