Trump meets with Macron, Zelenskyy ahead of Notre Dame reopening ceremony in Paris

President-elect Trump is back on the world stage following his election victory, meeting with world leaders ahead of the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral.

President Trump traveled to France on Saturday to attend the reopening of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral, which was severely damaged by a fire five years ago. The visit will be President Trump's first overseas trip since he was elected to a second non-consecutive term.

During his visit, President Trump fully demonstrated his diplomatic skills by meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysée presidential palace in Paris. The two were later joined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

President Macron said of President Trump: “It is a great honor for the French people to be able to welcome you back in five years.'' “And you were sworn in as president for the first time then. And I remember your solidarity and your immediate action. Well, welcome again. We're so glad to have you here. is.”

Ahead of the meeting, President Trump said world leaders would discuss how “the world is a little bit crazy right now.”

“We have a great relationship. As everyone knows, we've accomplished a lot together,” Trump said of Macron. “And the French people are amazing.”

According to Kensington Palace, President Trump will meet with Prince William, who is attending on behalf of his father, King Charles III, after the ceremony.

President Biden is not expected to attend the event, but First Lady Jill Biden is also expected to attend.

Prince William was scheduled to meet the First Lady at the British residence in Paris, but the meeting was canceled due to the weather, and the two men will now meet at a ceremony.
