Trump’s Weekly Meetings with European Leaders on Ukraine

President Donald Trump has announced plans to hold weekly meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders. This comes shortly after his discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. Trump mentioned that the U.S. has about two weeks to determine its course in ongoing negotiations regarding Ukraine.

The main agenda during these meetings will focus on security measures aimed at deterring further Russian aggression in Ukraine. The Trump administration indicated that Putin has agreed to provide additional protections for Ukraine, similar to NATO’s Article 5 Mutual Defense Clause.

Trump on Ukrainian Troop Deployment

Despite discussions, Trump stated that sending U.S. troops to Ukraine is not an option being considered right now. He also expressed that he is developing a clearer understanding of whether a deal to resolve the conflict is possible and hinted at potential actions the U.S. might take in the upcoming weeks.

“We’ll see what happens,” Trump told reporters on Friday. “I think we’ll assess the situation over the next two weeks.” He emphasized that decisions around possible sanctions or tariffs could be significant but are still under consideration.

Amidst this, it seems the discussions have continued to evolve.

Trump Engages with Law Enforcement

On a different note, Trump joined law enforcement and National Guard members in Washington on Thursday, part of his administration’s effort to combat crime in the city.

“We’ve seen some incredible results—it’s almost like a different place,” Trump stated during the event. Vice President JD Vance also visited National Guard forces recently and remarked on the noticeable changes in the area.

FIFA World Cup Plans Announced

In another development, Trump shared details about hosting the FIFA World Cup draw at the Kennedy Center on December 5. This event will involve organizing the teams into different groups.

“It’s a huge honor to bring such an important global event to Washington, D.C.,” Trump said, highlighting the occasion as a celebration of sports and culture.

He mentioned playfully that some refer to the Kennedy Center as the “Trump Kennedy Center,” although he noted they aren’t fully settled on that designation just yet.
