Trump mentions Iran is beginning to overstep US boundaries during deadly protests.

On Sunday, President Donald Trump indicated that Iran is “starting to cross” critical U.S. boundaries, following alarming reports of civilian casualties. He issued a stern warning that any aggression toward U.S. interests would meet with a strong response as his administration weighs “very strong options.”

While addressing reporters on Air Force One, on his return from Palm Beach, Florida, Trump was questioned about whether Iran had crossed a line that would necessitate action. “It seems like they’re beginning to do just that, and unfortunately, it appears that innocent people are getting harmed,” he remarked. He described the Iranian leaders as, well, complicated—it’s tough to tell if they genuinely lead or just rule through fear. “We’re considering some serious options here,” he added, noting a decision would be made soon.

Trump also mentioned that there have been fatalities among protesters and that he receives updates every hour to guide his decision-making process.

Days earlier, he had warned that the U.S. would retaliate decisively if Iran’s government continued its crackdown on dissent. “Iran has major issues going on,” Trump observed. “It appears that people are taking over cities that seemed secure just a few weeks back. We’re keeping a very close eye on things.”

As protests erupted across Iran, escalating to at least 190 cities according to Iran’s National Council of Resistance, the landscape appeared increasingly volatile.

The President declared, “We’re going to hit them hard where it hurts. And while this doesn’t entail deploying ground troops, it definitely means we will strike hard.”

As for the recent unrest, the Associated Press reported that around 544 individuals have been killed, with many more feared dead amid the ongoing chaos. The Iranian government cautioned that U.S. military forces and Israel could become “legitimate targets” if the U.S. chose to intervene on behalf of demonstrators.

In the wake of protests extending over two weeks, more than 10,600 people reportedly have been detained. An organization focused on human rights has confirmed the data aligns with previous protests, indicating that around 496 deceased were protesters while 48 were security personnel.

Adding to the turmoil, authorities have implemented a nationwide internet blackout, effectively isolating Iran as protests continue and the regime escalates threats of severe consequences.
