Rep. Addison McDowell on Trump’s Legislative Victory
Representative Addison McDowell (R-NC) remarked on Saturday that the Senate is nearing the passage of what he termed President Donald Trump’s significant legislative bill, paving the way for a signing ceremony around July 4th. This event reflects what he sees as a monumental achievement in legislation and an essential economic boost.
“This bill represents Trump’s agenda, and that’s precisely how we plan to address matters post-Biden administration,” McDowell stated. He expressed eagerness for the Senate to finalize the bill swiftly upon their return.
McDowell emphasized his ongoing communication between the House and Senate, indicating keen attention to the proceedings involving Trump and the White House.
“We’re focused on securing our country, regardless of Democratic opposition,” he asserted. “This initiative embodies the President’s commitment to the American people, and we are taking significant steps towards it.”
Moreover, legislators criticized Democrats for not maintaining Trump’s tax cuts from 2017, which they believe have benefited everyday Americans by reducing tips and overtime taxes, funding border security, and enhancing domestic energy production.
“It’s bewildering why they would support what could be the largest tax hike in our history that would impact daily lives,” McDowell remarked. “This is a bill that promotes jobs, workers, families, and clean energy, yet they oppose it for reasons unknown.”
He also pointed out new fentanyl legislation passed by both chambers, which he noted holds personal significance, given the loss of his younger brother to fentanyl addiction.
“This law aims to equip law enforcement to combat cartels,” he explained. “We’re focused on preventing more harmful imitation fentanyl from circulating in our communities by increasing penalties for those distributing it, and we hope to see the President sign this into law.”
McDowell described the current momentum as “undeniable,” noting Trump’s successes across various domains, from international agreements to pushing NATO allies towards greater defense spending and achieving peace between Rwanda and the Congo.
“Democrats seem frustrated and confused, which leads me to believe they opted for communists in the New York City mayoral race,” McDowell posited. “They lack direction and are bewildered by ongoing victories following Trump’s achievements.”
“Donald Trump might be one of the most significant presidents since George Washington,” he concluded. “He consistently fulfills his promises. Finally, we have a president who stands for America and achieves success daily.”
