Trump Mobile announced: What is the timeline for getting a wireless plan and new phone?

Recently, the Trump organization added a new venture to its diverse portfolio: Trump Mobile, which was unveiled on Monday. Donald Trump Jr. shared that the company identified a gap in the mobile phone market, pinpointing “inactive performances” and “underserved” audiences as key areas of focus.

The announcement included various mobile plans and unique gold mobile phones, with promises of a “full product packaging” rollout soon. Among the 47 different plans, one is priced at $47.45 per month, seemingly a nod to his father’s past presidential term. Trump Mobile plans to collaborate with all three major carriers—Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile—to provide nationwide 5G access.

According to the organization, anyone interested in these plans can reach the customer service team right now. They’ve assured potential customers that help is available around the clock, though the website specifies customer service is only active from Friday through 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily.

As for the Trump Mobile phones themselves, they aren’t available just yet. The advertised “T1 Phone” is touted as a high-performance device, designed and assembled in the U.S. for customers who expect top-tier service. Although gold is Trump’s signature color, Trump Jr. mentioned that his father isn’t involved in the phone’s operations.

The T1 phone is designed with a distinctive gold exterior featuring the American flag and boasts impressive specs like a fast-charging battery, 256GB internal storage, a headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port, all running on Google’s Android 15 system. Pre-orders can be made now, with a $100 down payment required for the $499 device, but the release date remains ambiguous.

The company has stated that the T1 phone is slated for an August launch, although the website suggests it might actually be available in September. Trump Mobile did not provide clarity when contacted for additional information.

Interestingly, the T1 phone’s design and manufacturing will be handled by a different company, leading to questions about its actual production location. Reports indicate skepticism about whether the phone will indeed be made in the U.S. Given the complexities involved in establishing a domestic supply chain for smartphones, some experts consider this to be somewhat unrealistic.

For context, major manufacturers like Apple rely heavily on overseas factories for their products. During a podcast, Eric Trump claimed that the T1 phone would eventually be “entirely built in the U.S.,” which adds another layer of intrigue to the project.
