Trump mocks European leaders with photo of him placing US flag on Greenland, shares flattering messages from global leaders.

This week, just before the important Davos conference, President Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself placing an American flag on Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark. He took the opportunity to poke fun at European leaders, revealing some flattering text messages from global political figures.

The image was released on Truth Social early on Tuesday, depicting Trump alongside Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as he proclaims his claim over Greenland, with a sign announcing it as a “U.S. territory in 2026.”

In another AI-generated photo, Trump showcased a group of European leaders—including British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni—huddled around a map in the Oval Office that shows Greenland, Canada, and Venezuela merged into the United States.

These posts come amid Trump intensifying his efforts to acquire Greenland, stating on Tuesday there’s “no turning back” from this aim and even suggesting the possibility of taking the Arctic island by force.

As he prepares to attend this week’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump also posted a series of positive comments from French President Macron and NATO Secretary-General Rutte, commending recent foreign policy successes in Syria and beyond.

According to a screenshot of their exchange shared on Truth Social, Macron said, “On Syria, we are completely in agreement. On Iran, we can do great things.”

While he’s worried about Trump’s ambitions regarding Greenland, Macron is hosting a G7 meeting concerning Ukraine, Denmark, Syria, and Russia in Paris. He’s also arranged a dinner for both leaders before Trump heads back.

Rutte expressed admiration in another text, stating, “What you have achieved today in Syria is incredible.” He mentioned plans to highlight Trump’s efforts during his time in Davos, showing commitment to finding a way forward for Greenland.

Following this social media outburst, Trump warned he may impose additional tariffs on European nations if they attempt to obstruct his plans to purchase Greenland from Denmark.

In a separate statement, Trump threatened France with 200% tariffs on wine and champagne unless Macron joined a “peace commission” aimed at reconstructing Gaza.
