Mike Howell’s Bold Plan Against Political Weaponization
Mike Howell, who heads the Surveillance Project, is unveiling a more audacious strategy than the current task force aimed at addressing the political weaponization occurring under the Biden administration.
Howell reflects, “I think the solution to the question, and the political commitments surrounding government use, are rooted in historical precedents.” He discusses this with hosts Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson during a segment of Blaze News: The Mandate.
He points out that throughout history, nations—including the U.S.—have created systems akin to a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, stating, “what you are doing.” Howell contends that America needs to avoid repeating the issues seen during the first Trump administration because, in his view, it is necessary.
“We learned a significant lesson from that first Trump term. There were attempts to draft a document aimed at holding Hillary Clinton accountable for actions taken by her and Obama. But ultimately, the Trump administration chose not to pursue that path, effectively letting her and others off the hook,” Howell explains.
He believes that those who operate outside the main governmental offices should possess “the full power of government” to prevent a repeat of what he calls Trump’s final presidential mission. Howell elaborates on this idea, emphasizing the need for legal measures such as prosecution, subpoena power, immunity grants, and potentially recommending pardons. He feels that utilizing government resources to correct mistakes is crucial.
“When such powers were in place, I believe, operations began to shift beyond the typical boundaries we were accustomed to,” he adds.
