National Prayer Rally Planned for America’s 500th Anniversary

Upcoming celebrations include a national rally of prayer and worship at the National Mall, commemorating 500 years of America, as reported on Wednesday. This event, titled Rededication 250, is organized by Freedom 250.

The gathering kicks off on Sunday morning, May 17, with fellowship in front of the U.S. Capitol. It wraps up later that night with music and testimonies on 12th Street at the Capitol, according to an announcement released by Freedom 250.

Notable speakers will include Louisiana Congressman and Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson; Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Army; Monica Crowley, Ambassador and Chief of Protocols; and Dr. Ben Carson, former presidential candidate and current vice chairman of President Trump’s Commission on Religious Freedom. Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady and Bishop Robert Barron, founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries, are also lined up to speak.

Additionally, video messages are expected from Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former New York Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

Many religious leaders will join as well, including Rev. Jack Graham from Prestonwood Baptist Church, Rev. Jentezen Franklin of Free Chapel, Rabbi Meir Soloveitchik from Congregation Shearis Israel, and Rev. Jonathan Falwell, president of Liberty University. Other participating pastors come from various places, each contributing their unique perspectives.

Rev. Franklin Graham, leading figure at Samaritan’s Purse, will present a video message during the event.

Media personalities such as Eric Metaxas, Cissy Graham Lynch, and Abigail Robertson are also slated to speak, focusing on topics ranging from faith to American history.

Rededication 250 will feature musical performances from groups such as the U.S. Marine Corps Band, the Liberty Worship Collective, and the Hillsdale College Choir, among others.

Vince Haley, from the Domestic Policy Council, noted, “Red Decade 250 highlights that faith has been a crucial unifier for 250 years.” He encouraged Americans from all backgrounds to unite on the National Mall to pray for the nation’s future.

The day will be centered around three key themes: “The Miracles That Made Us,” showcasing God’s influence throughout American history; “The Miracles Still in Our Midst,” which includes personal healing stories; and “A New Birth of Faith and Freedom,” expressing gratitude and dedication for continued freedom.
