Trump on who killed JFK: ‘You’ll make a determination’

President Trump said Friday that individuals can make their own “determinations” about the person who killed former President John F. Kennedy.

“I don't think there's anything that will crush the planet,” Trump said days after his administration released thousands of documents related to the assassination of the former president. “But you have to make that determination.”

Many of the documents are handwritten or blurred due to their age, making searching difficult, so historians and journalists still pour them out to uncover new details, but it has been known to date.

The information in the document is new and it is difficult to determine what is old.

The only way to clearly communicate which information is new is to compare the document to an older version previously released by the National Archives.

Additionally, documents are not classified or sorted in any way, so it can take several days to determine what new information actually released. So far, there has been no “smoking guns” examining decades-old conspiracy regarding assassinations.

The sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, was revealed in a newly unedited document.

Joseph Digenova, a former campaign lawyer for Trump, was among those who had personal information revealed. He said he plans to sue the National Archives and the Bureau of Records for violating the Privacy Act on concerns over identity theft.

Speaking from the oval office on Friday, Trump confirmed the release of his Social Security number.

“We've even released our Social Security numbers,” he said. “I didn't want to delete anything.”
