Former President Trump will visit Hurricane Helen-ravaged North Carolina on Monday as part of a series of campaign stops across battleground states.
The former president will travel to “see first-hand the damage caused by Hurricane Helen” and will address the press in Asheville at noon, according to a campaign press release. President Trump will also make another stop in Greenville, North Carolina, before attending an “11th Hour Faith Leaders Conference'' with Eric Trump and Ben Carson in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday night.
The trip was one of several campaign visits by President Trump to the Old North state since deadly hurricanes hit the Southeast, having the greatest impact on mostly red counties that Trump last won. It became one.
The state is expected to play a key role in determining the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, when 16 electoral votes will be cast on November 5.

President Trump will visit North Carolina, while Vice President Kamala Harris will make campaign stops in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin on Monday.
Harris traveled to North Carolina after the deadly storm and attended a barbecue in Raleigh before packing diapers and other relief supplies for victims of October's hurricane.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, joined former President Bill Clinton in a recent campaign stop in the battleground state that Trump narrowly won in 2020.

President Biden has been working across the aisle to bring disaster relief to storm-hit states, visiting North Carolina and ordering the deployment of 500 additional active-duty troops to counties in the state's west.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections passed a bipartisan emergency resolution reforming the state's early voting process in 13 counties. Adjustments include changing or adding voting sites and maintaining their availability, extending voting site hours, and adding or shortening sites' business days during the early voting period, the election commission said.
