Trump Addresses Limestone Damage in White House Rose Garden

President Donald Trump recently shared a video clip revealing a contractor he claims is responsible for a significant gouge in the limestone of the White House Rose Garden.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed pride in the “beautiful stonework” of the Rose Garden, stating that the renovations have been completed. Just a few days prior, he had noticed a limestone cut that stretched over 25 yards, which he found concerning.

While reviewing security footage, Trump noted that there was “heavy landscaping” occurring on a broken steel cart, which was leaning dangerously and damaging the stones. “Three days ago, while admiring the stonework, I happened to spot a large gouge in the limestone measuring over 25 yards,” he recalled. “It was deep and quite troubling! I yelled, ‘Who did this? I want to know right now!’—and it wasn’t in a positive tone.”

Trump further commented on the security measures, saying, “We have top-notch security everywhere, yet they brought back these foolish individuals (in sunglasses!).” He underscored that he appreciates skilled workers and contractors but deemed this incident unacceptable. “I plan to replace the stones, charge the contractor, and ensure that they don’t work on the White House grounds again. But how impressive is our video security? We caught them in the act,” he added.

Earlier in June, the White House began multiple projects, including installing flagpoles and paving areas in the Rose Garden. This followed Trump’s announcement in April about putting his personal touch on the White House, according to reports.

In a March interview with Fox News, Trump noted the importance of the Rose Garden for events like press conferences, mentioning that wet ground conditions could create problems for attendees. “We use it for press conferences, and that doesn’t work if people are slipping,” he explained.
