NBC News reported on Wednesday that Stefanik made headlines at a dinner Trump attended at Mar-a-Lago, shortly after Stefanik made headlines for grilling university presidents about anti-Semitism on campus. It was reported that it was released.
According to the outlet, President Trump seemed to agree with the suggestion, nodding and adding, “She's a murderer.”
Stefanik addressed the vice president's speculation in an interview with Fox News' Brian Kilmeade on January 10.

“I'm not going to intervene in the conversation with President Trump. We speak frequently and I've said it for a year now that I'm the first member of Congress to support President Trump's re-election. “And I'm honored to serve in the Trump administration in any capacity,” she said.
Stefanik made headlines in December for questioning the presidents of Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She asked the university's president whether “calling for the genocide of Jews” violated the university's policies regarding bullying and harassment.
Claudine Gay, who recently resigned as president of Harvard University, responded, “That could be the case, depending on the circumstances.”

“When anti-Semitic speech amounts to bullying, harassment and intimidation, it deserves action, and we will take action,” Gay said.
UPenn President Liz McGill also resigned following backlash for hedging her congressional testimony. NBC News reported that Stefanik is attracting President Trump's attention because Trump wants someone who is loyal.
“More than anything, Mr. Trump wants someone who is loyal,” a Republican campaign official told NBC. “Especially because he sees Mike Pence as having committed a deadly crime.”

Stefanik announced Wednesday that she would accompany Trump on the campaign trail in New Hampshire.
