The latest Fox News poll shows the two in a virtual dead heat in Pennsylvania, with Trump leading Biden 49% to 47%. The difference is within the margin of error.

President Trump’s upcoming changes to election infrastructure in battleground states come as Biden criticizes Trump for not attending many key events. As Biden gears up for the general election, Trump spent the Republican primary campaign in Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire.

With multiple criminal cases pending against Trump, time spent campaigning on the streets may be limited, and critics say he will be slow to ramp up his ground campaign. Pointed out.

Biden team seeks to pin ‘basement’ campaign reputation on Trump

Michigan Republican Party Chairman Pete Hoekstra told The Associated Press this week that the RNC and Trump campaign have not yet invested in increased campaign efforts in the state, which is expected to be a crisis state in November. Ta.

“We now have a skeleton,” Hoekstra told The Associated Press. “I need to put more meat on it.”

His observation is that President Biden’s re-election efforts will open 100 new offices in Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania and hire more than 350 new employees to work in already established fields. This coincided with the news that they were added to staff in battleground states.

“Donald Trump, who claims he has plans to build out battleground state operations with no funding, lay off state employees, and close community centers, has made other long-promised infrastructure improvements that never materialized. “It feels eerily similar to the impending Trump plan,” Biden campaign spokesman Seth Schuster said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “One week at a time, or an alternative to Obamacare? We will believe it when we see it.”

But the RNC and Trump campaign dismissed the idea that they were behind schedule.

“We don’t feel the need to talk about tactics because we support the candidate. He’s the winning candidate,” Republican National Committee spokesman Daniel Alvarez said in an interview with Fox News Digital.

“We are using all tactics,” Alvarez said. “We’re raising money. We’re leveraging assets. Everything is happening.”

She explained that President Trump and the RNC will not necessarily publicize the steps being taken to ensure victory.

“We win when we lead with a candidate, but they lose when they lead with a candidate,” he added.

Alvarez argued that Democrats “can’t get their own people out there” and are forced to lead “with their own tactics.”

The Trump campaign noted that infrastructure improvements expected to roll out in key states over the next 30 to 45 days are faster than in past cycles. Typically, presidential candidates other than the incumbent are not finalized until the RNC convention in the summer, and committees and campaigns are not integrated until then.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the RNC reported its worst fundraising performance in 2023 since 2013, raising only $87.2 million and having about $8 million in available cash on hand. Ta.

In January, President Trump’s cash reserves dwindled to $30 million, while spending outpaced fundraising. The Biden campaign raised $42 million during the same period, and boasted a $130 million war chest for the general election.

But in the last month, both the committee and the Trump campaign have seen improvement. The RNC raised $10.6 million in February, increasing its cash reserves. Last month, the Trump campaign was able to raise more than $20 million, boosted by its primary victory, and its cash reserves increased to $42 million.

Although fundraising appears to be picking up after the Trump campaign merged with the committee, concerns about Trump’s finances remain. The former president has been ordered to make various payments in criminal proceedings.

The RNC and campaign further objected to criticism that action in key states may not have been taken sooner due to legal costs against the former president and a lack of fundraising. Both the committee and the campaign expressed confidence, noting that all assets would cover all costs.

They acknowledged that Democrats are expected to have a financial advantage, but argued that Trump doesn’t need that much money to win.
