Trump: Progressing with Iran Talks in a Positive Way

Trump Claims Ground Troops Unnecessary to Ensure Iran's Uranium Security

Trump Discusses Iran Negotiations

President Trump noted on Sunday that the talks with Iran are moving forward in a constructive way, urging both parties to take the necessary time to ensure any agreement reached is appropriate.

This morning, he took to Truth Social to update followers on the apparent swift progress toward a potential deal.

“Negotiations are going smoothly, and I’ve instructed delegates not to rush into an agreement, as we have time on our side,” he stated.

He added, “Until we finalize an agreement that is validated and signed, the existing blockade will continue. It’s critical that both sides take the time needed to avoid mistakes.”

Trump also expressed that the dynamics between the U.S. and Iran are evolving into a more professional and efficient relationship.

He emphasized that Iran must grasp that achieving nuclear weapons is off the table, contrasting the current discussions with the previous Obama-era deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). “That deal was one of the worst we’ve ever had, leading directly to Iran’s nuclear weapon ambitions, which is not what we are working toward now,” he asserted.

Thanking Middle Eastern nations for their backing in these negotiations, Trump speculated that more countries might join the Abraham Accords, saying, “I appreciate the cooperation from Middle Eastern countries. If Iran decides to participate in the Accords, it could strengthen our collective efforts.”

Reports have surfaced suggesting that U.S. negotiators feel confident that Iran may agree to relinquish its nuclear aspirations and enriched uranium as part of a broader peace framework.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claimed that Iran is prepared to prove it is not on a path to nuclear armament.

Additionally, CBS News senior correspondent Jennifer Jacobs indicated that U.S. officials believe Iran’s Supreme Leader has authorized a general framework for a draft agreement.

Jacobs reported that Iran is willing to dispose of highly enriched uranium in exchange for the lifting of the U.S. blockade, though the draft will require approval through Iran’s leadership system.

Later, Trump cautioned against heeding those who criticize the negotiations without understanding the specifics, emphasizing, “If I reach a deal, it will be beneficial—unlike Obama’s agreement that handed Iran substantial cash and a direct path to nuclear capabilities. Our deal will be the opposite, but it’s not fully mapped out yet.”

He concluded by urging critics to refrain from dismissing what they do not comprehend, stating, “Unlike my predecessors, I refuse to accept poor deals!”
