Trump’s Speech at Mount Rushmore for America’s 250th Anniversary

On the eve of the United States’ 250th anniversary, President Donald Trump delivered a passionate speech at Mount Rushmore, asserting that the U.S. is “the most exceptional country in history.” He expressed his commitment to ensuring that the nation would “never become a communist country.”

Standing beneath the granite faces of former presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, Trump celebrated American exceptionalism as nationwide festivities ramped up.

“In all of history, modern or otherwise, no nation has celebrated such an epic victory,” he declared to the assembled crowd.

He reiterated, “After 250 years, America is the oldest republic on Earth. We are the freest people on Earth. We possess the most just and enduring Constitution on Earth, and with God’s grace, the United States of America remains the most successful and accomplished nation in human history.”

Trump highlighted the nation’s history, claiming that no other country has achieved as much as the United States. “The birth and continuation of the American nation under God is the greatest thing that ever happened. No nation has done more good in this world than we have,” he stated.

Before addressing the crowd, the new Air Force One passed over Mount Rushmore to cheers. Following his remarks, Trump watched a fireworks show in the Black Hills.

He warned that America faces a rising communist movement threatening to “undermine our exceptional character” and sought to question “what it means to be an American.”

Describing communism as the “greatest threat” to the country, he claimed, “We are not going to allow something like this to happen to us.” He added that it was an enemy of free people, characterizing it as opposed to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

He firmly advised, “You can be loyal to Karl Marx or you can be loyal to America. You can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You can’t be both.”

Reflecting on the sacrifices made by Americans in past conflicts, he urged that those sacrifices should guide future actions: “Our American ancestors did not shed their blood just so that extremists could pillage our country.”

Trump praised the four presidents behind him as embodiments of America’s founding ideals, describing them as men of action, ambition, and intellect and reiterating their significance in history.

He concluded, as the 250th anniversary approached, “Tonight, we stand beneath the monument to our heroes and rededicate ourselves to a nation as big, bold, and noble as these American giants.”

Trump is set to speak again on Saturday before another fireworks display, emphasizing that this moment is just the start of America’s Golden Age.
