Trump Promises to Address Minnesota's Fraud Issue — 'It Was a Huge Scam'

Trump Addresses Allegations of Fraud in Minnesota’s Somali Community

President Donald Trump has pledged to “get to the bottom” of supposed fraud within Minnesota’s Somali community. During a New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago, he addressed the audience about the significant amount of alleged funds misappropriated by officials in the area, as reported by Fox News.

“Can you imagine they stole $18 billion? That’s what we’re learning. It’s nothing compared to what’s happening in California, Illinois, and even New York,” he remarked, promising to investigate the matter thoroughly. He referred to it as a “huge fraud.”

These remarks followed a report by citizen journalist Nick Shirley, who claimed his team found evidence of fraud at day care centers and other locations in Minnesota, according to Breitbart News.

Shirley’s viral video caption stated, “Here’s the full 42 minutes my crew and I exposed Minnesota fraud. This might be my most important work ever. We uncovered over $110 million in just one day. It’s time to hold these corrupt politicians accountable; we work hard and pay too many taxes for this kind of cheating to continue.”

In response to the growing concerns, President Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services is set to freeze federal payments to child care providers in Minnesota, as reported on Tuesday.

This action is also intended to urge other states to scrutinize irregularities in federally funded services, particularly in areas heavily impacted by years of immigration policies. The freeze carries political weight by compelling legitimate carriers to call for a national investigation into what appears to be widespread fraud by Somali providers. The reported issues are said to stem from an “amoral familialism” within the Somali community, contrasting with the American ideals of shared responsibilities and rights.

In a counter to Trump’s claims, Minnesota’s Democratic Governor Tim Walz accused the president of “politicizing the issue” regarding the alleged Somali immigration fraud, stating, “We’ve been addressing fraud for years.”

As evidence continues to surface, Trump has labeled Walz as a “crooked governor.” Moreover, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt mentioned that the administration is contemplating actions to denaturalize a Somali citizen who was convicted of fraud in Minnesota, as reported on Wednesday.
