Trump removes video showing Obama and Michelle Obama as apes

The White House announced that a video mistakenly shared on President Donald Trump’s social media accounts was taken down. The clip, which portrayed former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as jungle monkeys, sparked immediate backlash.

This video was primarily focused on claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. Toward the end, the Obamas’ heads were superimposed onto the bodies of primates, accompanied by the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

In addition to the Obamas, other elected officials were also depicted alongside various animals. The White House stated that a staff member had posted the video unintentionally before it was swiftly removed.

The video was met with swift condemnation. Many Democrats denounced it as racist, and even some Republicans expressed their disapproval.

Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina commented, “I hope this is fake, because this is the most racist thing I’ve seen in this White House. The president should get rid of it.” Meanwhile, Rep. Mike Lawler from New York labeled the video as “wrong” and “incredibly disturbing.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a known critic of Trump, urged Republicans to denounce the video, describing Trump’s actions as “disgusting.”

Last year, Trump had shared another AI-generated video featuring Obama, showing him being arrested in the Oval Office, set to the tune of “YMCA.” In that clip, an AI-rendered Trump watches as Obama, depicted in an orange jumpsuit, is placed in solitary confinement.

FOX News Digital has sought comments from the offices of Barack and Michelle Obama regarding the incident.
