Trump Reverses Norah O’Donnell’s Worries About Immigration Raids, Claiming They ‘Haven’t Gone Far Enough’

Trump’s Views on ICE Raids During ’60 Minutes’ Interview

During an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” President Donald Trump brushed off host Norah O’Donnell’s concerns regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. He expressed that he believed the actions taken by ICE weren’t extreme enough.

The Trump administration has intensified ICE operations across major U.S. cities, moving forward with numerous deportations. O’Donnell brought up the issue of excessive force, asking Trump if he believed the actions were “over the top.” Trump replied, “No, I don’t think they’ve gone far enough, because we’ve been held back by the judges, liberal judges appointed by Biden and Obama.”

When asked if he was “okay” with the tactics being used, Trump stated, “Yes, because we have to get rid of our people. We have to look at our people. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people who were expelled from the country because they are criminals.”

The Democratic Party is strongly against Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, having launched several lawsuits against his administration. Support for Kilmer Armando Abrego Garcia, a known illegal immigrant, began to gain traction in March 2025. Some supporters have dubbed him “Maryland’s father,” despite links to the MS-13 criminal organization according to Department of Justice (DOJ) records.

In other news, the corporate media’s portrayal of ICE raids has faced backlash from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Secretary Kristi Noem recently criticized NBC for their initial headline stating, “ICE detains 5-year-old autistic girl in Massachusetts, pressures father to surrender,” later correcting their statement.

NBC broadcasted a video from Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra that depicted ICE agents with a 5-year-old girl. The child’s mother recounted that her husband believed they were being followed and attempted to flee, leaving the girl alone. Noem emphasized that her father had endangered children in the past and claimed he abandoned her to escape.

After the initial report, NBC amended their article to clarify: “Video shows ICE and 5-year-old girl as agents attempt to arrest father,” and included a correction indicating that the initial portrayal was inaccurate.

Both Noem and border czar Tom Homan have criticized the rhetoric from Democratic leaders, linking it to rising threats against ICE agents. Recently, the DHS reported an astonishing 8,000% increase in leaks of personal information and death threats against ICE employees and their families. This came on the heels of the Justice Department charging ten individuals in relation to violent actions against law enforcement during protests against ICE in California.
