Trump Criticizes California Governor Over Fraud Investigation

President Trump is once again targeting Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom, labeling his administration as “corrupt.”

Trump’s administration plans to initiate an investigation into alleged fraud in California, which he claims may surpass issues seen in Minnesota. This announcement follows extensive reports revealing potential fraud that could amount to billions in California. Meanwhile, Trump’s team has opposed financial support for certain programs in Somalia and Minnesota.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump remarked, “California under Governor Gavin Newsom is more corrupt than Minnesota, if that’s possible? A California fraud investigation has begun. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

This isn’t President Trump’s only criticism directed at Democratic governors. He has also cast doubt on the cognitive abilities of Newsom and other party leaders during a speech. “Do you think Walz can pass a cognitive test?” he questioned, referring to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. “I don’t think Gavin can do it. He’s got a good line, but he couldn’t pass anything else.”

Trump further criticized Newsom regarding the management during a dangerous fire season in the Palisades. He claimed Newsom had restricted water supply from the Pacific Northwest, resulting in extensive damage. “They shut it off, and then 25,000 houses burned down. They don’t know why,” Trump stated.

In response to the criticism, Newsom pointed fingers at Trump’s immigration policies, which he believes have slowed down the rebuilding efforts in areas affected by the fires. “Donald Trump’s reckless and inhumane attacks on immigrants have devastated communities and greatly harmed efforts to rebuild from the Los Angeles fires,” he commented.
