Former President Trump said technical issues had caused his voice to sound “a little different and weird” during a highly anticipated interview with X owner Elon Musk on Monday.
The interview was plagued with technical issues from the start, with the influx of users quickly causing the “Space” to crash, displaying the message “This space is unavailable.” As users joined, many noted that Trump’s speaking style was not his usual self, with some saying he sounded like he was slurring his words.
“My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a record audience and was truly special, especially as Elon is a special person himself. I appreciate his strong support! Unfortunately, due to the complexities of modern devices and cell phone technology, my voice sounded somewhat different and strange in some parts,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“So we have released the actual and complete recording of the conversation,” Trump added. “Enjoy!!!”
Trump supporters have called the criticism a “Lisp Deax.”
The conversation, which lasted about two hours and peaked with more than one million concurrent listeners, covered everything from last month’s assassination attempt on Harris to the state of the 2024 presidential election. The lengthy discussion stood in stark contrast to Vice President Kamala Harris, who has not given an interview since emerging as the Democratic nominee.
Trump also resents the way technology issues have clouded the interview’s large audience.
“Spoke with Elon for 2.5 hours last night. He is an amazing guy and we got some of the most views and hits ever. All the Fake News wants to report is that our servers crashed (due to volume!) and the show started a little late. What they should be reporting is that so many people were listening, it’s unbelievable,” he posted.
