Trump Warns Putin Over Ukraine Invasion
In a recent gathering with donors, former President Donald Trump made it clear that he had issued a stern warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He claimed that if Russia were to invade Ukraine, there would be serious repercussions, including bombs falling in Moscow. This information comes from a new book titled “2024: How Trump Recaptures the White House and Democrats Lost America,” released on Tuesday, which discusses the events leading to Trump’s claimed victory in the November 2024 election. The book also touches on how Joe Biden’s team brushed aside concerns regarding his age during the campaign.
Trump Denies U.S. Involvement in Ukraine Conflict
According to the book, Trump told his supporters about a conversation he had with Putin, warning, “Vladimir, if you do that, we’re going to bomb from Moscow.” He also recounted that he conveyed similar threats to Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding Taiwan. Trump’s tone suggested he believed this tough talk was necessary, though he admitted Putin found it hard to believe.
Support for Trump’s Foreign Policy Grows
Following these remarks, the White House responded by pointing out that Russia only began its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which was after Trump’s presidency. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated, “As President Trump has said many times, Russia never invaded Ukraine when he took office. That only happened when Biden took office.” She added that the current administration’s leadership is aimed at restoring America’s position as a leader in the world.
The White House has not yet addressed the authenticity of audio recordings related to Trump’s comments.
Tensions Between Trump and Zelensky Persist
In the same vein, Trump recently expressed frustration with Putin’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine. During a cabinet meeting, he indicated his willingness to consider new sanctions against Russia. He stated, “We get a lot of bulls— thrown our way by Putin. If you want to know the truth, he’s always so good, but it turns out to be pointless.” It’s clear that Trump is navigating a complex relationship with both Russia and Ukraine.
This latest book about Trump’s political journey, co-authored by writers from various major publications, provides insight into his plans and how they contrast with the current administration.
