Former President Trump has said that this will be his last presidential election and that if he loses this November, he will not run for president in 2028.
In an interview on the television show “Full Measure” on Sunday, Trump told host Sharyl Atkisson that he has no plans to run again if he loses to Vice President Harris.
Asked whether there would be a fourth election campaign, he said: “It will happen. It will happen. I'm not thinking about it at all.”
Trump is currently fighting for his political life against Harris.
After winning his first election in 2016, he lost to President Biden in 2020. He re-entered the race and maintained good approval ratings against Biden despite his ongoing legal battles and a felony conviction.
Trump will be 82 by the time of the 2028 election. Age has dominated this election campaign, with Biden being criticized for his age and ultimately handing the baton to a new generation and Harris.
According to The Hill/Decision Desk headquarters, Harris has a 55 percent chance of winning the election.
Both candidates are vying for key battleground states, where Harris has seen her popularity increase since her presidential debate with Trump, according to new polls.
