President-elect Donald Trump has said he would seek to abolish daylight saving time once he takes office.

On Friday, President Trump posted on Truth Social that Republicans would seek to abolish daylight saving time.

“Republicans will do everything in their power to abolish daylight saving time, which has a small but powerful constituency, but they shouldn't! Daylight saving time is an inconvenience and very costly to our country,” he wrote. Ta.

President Trump's top advisers Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have been appointed to head the new Office of Government Efficiency, have hinted at the possibility of scrapping the time change.

“Looks like the public wants to get rid of those annoying time changes!” Musk wrote about X last month.

Ramaswamy responded, “It's inefficient and easy to change.''

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) reintroduced the proposal in 2023 after it previously stalled in the House.
