President Donald Trump has said he will cut off federal funding for schools and universities that allow “illegal protests.”
In a true social post Tuesday, Trump announced that “all federal funds will be suspended for universities, schools or universities that allow illegal protests.”
“Agitators will be imprisoned or sent back to the country they came to forever. American students will be expelled forever or arrested in response to a crime. There will be no masks! Thank you for being aware of this issue,” he added.
Trump has already used federal funding several times as a way to shape policy on schools, colleges and university campuses.

For example, as first reported by Breitbart News, Trump last month signed an executive order to suspend school and university funding that imposes coronavirus vaccine orders on students.
The order “prohibits federal funds from supporting or granting educational services agencies, state educational institutions, local educational institutions, elementary schools, secondary schools, or higher education institutions that require students to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate in in-person education programs,” reads White House documents.
Trump has also signed an executive order to reimburse K-12 schools that teach transgender ideology and critical racial theory, as pointed out by Breitbart News.
According to White House Memo First, the order gives the Department of Education 90 days to develop a plan on how to eliminate CRT and radical gender ideological guidance at K-12 schools. The White House memo also reportedly states that the order directs the Attorney General to work with the state attorney general and district attorney.
Trump's announcement on Tuesday comes after university campuses and universities across the country were sites of pro-Hama and anti-Israel protests at the end of the Biden administration.
