Trump says Ukraine peace must happen now or never — as UK PM commits to ‘boots on the ground’

WASHINGTON – President Trump said Thursday that peace agreements between Russia and Ukraine must be made before they are too long. British Prime Minister Kiel Prime Minister Stage has pledged to deploy peacekeeping forces on a joint mission with France.

“It's pretty close, or not at all, or not at all,” Trump said of the deal that could end Europe's most bloody war in 80 years.

“We're working very hard to end that war. I think we've made a lot of progress and I think it's going pretty quickly.”

Trump and Zelensky will sign a framework mineral rights agreement on Friday that will grant the US stocks to develop Ukraine's rare earth elements. Trump insists that despite uncertainty about the time frame for extracting materials and whether or not they will actually reach Washington's ffers, he is “effectively refunded” for war aid.
