Trump seeks to weaken US education, retirement security programs

President Trump's nightmare crusades are the realization of conservative activist Glovernoquist's dream of destroying key federal functions, gradually destroying government programs. Norquist famously said, “My goal is to cut the government in half in 25 years and keep it small so that it can be owned in the bathtub.” These days, Norquist must be jumping with joy.

Trump cannot completely eliminate the federal program without legal authority, even if Congress doesn't want to challenge him because of a troublesome federal judge. And he cannot kill Social Security unless he suffers from the rage of his voters. Instead, he loses at 1,000 cuts of deaths rather than running these important programs immediately.

Even he has no authority to boldness or kill programs completely. But he weakens the foundation that ultimately leads to the collapse of education and retirement security programs that have served millions of retirees and children over the years.

The lights are still on at the US Department of Education, but our children are left in the darkness. last week, Trump has announced plans to sabotage agents. He has I peeled it offalthough most Americans don't want to eliminate it. He has Half of the labor force was lifted And we have concluded many important research projects in the departments that our local school district has been accused of supporting our children's education.

I can grind Trump's plot and grind the kids at school to take away their bright future. As I risk dating me, my first job in Washington, DC was as a budget analyst for the U.S. Department of Education when I was part of the Department of Health, Education and Human Services. I have firsthand observed the brave efforts of career employees to ensure that school children provide adequate cost-effective programs. Many of them were the teachers themselves. My daughter is a public high school teacher and works far beyond her obligations to prepare her students for success.

Americans appreciate the brave efforts of these hardworking professionals, even if Trump and Musk weren't. a National survey conducted by Ipsos for Reuters Three Americans showed two opposed the removal of the department.

There is a massive fight to save the department. One of the leaders of the battle, President Randy Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers, told me In my podcast That decimation in the department has a devastating impact on the lives of millions of children.

The same pattern applies to Social Security. Even Trump won't kill it in the bright light of the day. Instead, he acted like a burglar at night. The new Trump order will not allow beneficiaries to verify their identity By phoneinstead, if they can't do it online, let them do it directly. And as if to make it even more difficult, the government 47 Social Security Administration Offices will be closed Around the country despite protests from moderate Republicans like lawmakers like Mike Lawler (RN.Y.).

It would be a devastating, demonically clever, and morally abominable gut punch to the elderly who have put all their might into programs to protect them in their old age.

Trump's courtiers cannot stop him from showing light emptying to a program that has worked so well and has served so many people for so long. On his site X, Mask shared a post Those who rely on federal benefits described as members of the “parasite class.” He also describes the lifesaving program as the “Ponzi Plan.” This is from a man It enjoys $38 billion in government contracts For SpaceX and Tesla.

After that, there is Commerce Secretary Howard Rutnik, who has a side gig as Tesla salesman for masks. He rejected the idea that Social Security beneficiaries would suffer if they didn't receive monthly payments. He said“Let's say Social Security didn't send their checks this month. My 94-year-old stepmother said she didn't call and complain, she wouldn't.

Sadly, many older people don't have the luxury of wealthy son-in-law who can rely on monthly checks to come on time to pay for food, and save them when the bill comes. According to Social Security Bureau7 million Americans receive 90% of their income from Social Security.

Why does Magus hate such a great program? Because Social Security is the avatar of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, a living demonstration of how well the government is exposed. Republicans will not rest until they fight teeth and nails to stop creating retirement security systems and successfully kill the program. After paying Social Security for decades, they dream of the elders' hopes and dreams to secure their future.

Trump and Musk are linking vulnerable House Republicans to the tracks on the third railway in American politics, and democratic trains are rapidly descending. Republicans don't have much time to free themselves from Trump and Musk and be right with angry constituents.
