Trump seen for first time after he’s shot by 20-year-old in attempted assassination, arrives at NJ airport

Donald Trump has been photographed descending the steps of his private jet, Trump Force One, for the first time since he was nearly shot by an assassin.

The former president was escorted by Secret Service agents onto the tarmac at Newark Liberty International Airport just after midnight, just as the would-be assassin was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

“Strong and tenacious. He will never stop fighting for America,” deputy communications director Margo Martin said on X.

He appeared to be wearing the same navy suit he had worn when a gunman slashed his right ear just hours earlier.

At least one spectator was killed in the shooting.
