Trump Nominates Nick Adams as Malaysia Ambassador
President Trump has put forward Nick Adams, an influencer who describes himself as an “alpha male,” for the position of U.S. ambassador to Malaysia. This announcement was made through a list of nominations submitted to the Senate recently.
Adams, who is originally from Australia but currently resides in Florida, expressed his gratitude for the nomination via a video posted on social media platform X. He stated that he feels “humble and respected” and is eager to undergo the Senate confirmation process.
In the video, he emphasized that “accepting this obligation should be the easiest decision for any American.” He voiced his belief that it’s an incredible honor to share the goodwill of the President with the people of Malaysia.
He added, “Our country is a land of incredible opportunities, and in our new golden age, these will grow more than ever.”
This news arrives while Secretary of State Marco Rubio is in Malaysia for an ASEAN rally.
Adams has long been a supporter of Trump. His provocative social media activity often leads some to mistake him for a parody account. For instance, in November 2023, he referred to pop singer Taylor Swift as an “Awakened Jezebel.”
After significant flooding recently claimed over 100 lives in Texas, Adams shared an AI-generated image of Trump alongside a biblical shepherd, stating, “Like King David of the Bible, President Trump is a good shepherd and we are his flock!”
He has cultivated a connection with Trump, who described Adams as a “good friend” in the foreword of his book, “Alpha Kings,” published last year.
Trump commented, “When someone comes from another land and wants to be American, maintaining the values and patriotic spirit of Americans, that’s what I really appreciate. That’s Nick Adams.”
In his profile on X, Adams claims the title of “President Trump’s favorite author.”
Rolling Stone recently remarked on Adams’ nomination, suggesting that some view him as a “performance artist,” alongside other colorful descriptors.
Adams often posts about his experiences at Hooters restaurants. He once called for support to preserve the chain, lamenting its financial struggles and suggesting that they would grow under Trump’s leadership.
His posts frequently address his interactions with women, often using the Australian slang “Sheila.” In one anecdote, he recounts a date where he abruptly left upon discovering the woman planned to vote for Kamala Harris.
He encouraged followers to consider the political beliefs of potential partners, stating, “It’s time to give Sheila an ultimatum. Vote for President Trump this November or get dumped!”
This ambassador nomination has raised questions about his online persona, with some diplomats expressing concern over the selection. Yet, an unnamed diplomat in Kuala Lumpur remarked, “This is an incredible choice.”
